Editorial: Intimate London Wedding with Luxury Florals and Thames Speedboat

A London wedding is iconic for many reasons, but none moreso than when we are able to include the River Thames itself – it weaves its way past so many landmarks of the city’s past and present. Having a city wedding featuring both land and water is a wonderful nod, not just to our capital city, but to your love story too.

This stunning editorial is the work of luxury editorial and wedding photographer, Rebecca Searle. With intimate weddings, it is often possible to allocate larger amounts of budget to to elements that on a larger scale might get overlooked. In this intimate editorial, we look at a couple getting ready at the Four Seasons Hotel at Ten Trinity Square, a luxury hotel overlooking the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The setup featured a table for two on the penthouse terrace, showing that smaller occasions can still have big impact.

The styling was kept chic, sleek and minimal, pairing glossy Hollywood waves with a little black dress, and then a neat bun for the all-white wedding look later. With hair and accessories by luxury bridal service, Botias and dress by New York bridal brand, Justin Alexander.

We wanted to create an intimate environment against the iconic view,” says Rebecca, “so the couple stepped into their tablescape through a floral installation that provided a special and intimate setting just for them.”

This floral installation was a huge, larger-than-life arrangement that looked as if it were growing from the ground itself, a full, textured coppice of artful, perfectly arranged florals in elegant shades of white, cream, and green, courtesy of luxury London Florist, Paula Rooney.

Once they’d stepped through this floral utopia, the bride and groom got to their table, set with Duchess & Butler crockery and delicious letterpressed menus from Ink & Paper, tied with a pearl-adorned bow. These sat alongside tall white taper candles and the single tier pastel-coloured Sugarplum Bakes cake.

After this, it was time to hit the water for a a private speedboat trip! The Thames Limo is a private charter boat, providing personal cruises and intimate sightseeing trips in plush surroundings. You can see the city from a totally new perspective and enjoy a champagne toast as the sun sets around you – what better way to round off a Thames wedding than literally on the water?
