Editorial: Elegant Monochrome at Wilderness Reserve

Suffolk’s Wilderness Reserve is one of my all-time favourite wedding venues. It is a collection of exclusive-use country houses, luxury holiday cottages, and off-grid boltholes set in the 5000 acre Sibton Park Suffolk estate. It has been lovingly restored to a very high standard and includes a grand Grade II listed manor house plus restored 15th century barn, alongside of charming thatched cottages and romantic retreats.

Organised by Fine Art Photographer, Camilla J Hards, this editorial is a masterclass in elegant, understated chic. Elegant illustrations of the gorgeous manor house and beautiful swirling calligraphy set the tone, with whimsical, romantic flowers by Norfolk-based florists The Botany House.

Cakes were provided by the supremely talented Nina Y K of luxury wedding cake company, Erzulie Cakes. The most elegant of cake tables, featuring five showstopper cakes. Nina and I collaborated as I created a piece of calligraphy for her (eagle eyed readers will recognise it as Love is an Adventure by Pierre Tielhard de Chardin) which she printed on edible paper (edible calligraphy!) and used to wrap around the cake.

The stationery is one of my all-time favourite bespoke designs, featuring pillowy handmade paper, elegant calligraphy and a sophisticated, minimal illustration of the manor house at Wilderness, Sibton Park Estate. We also used beautiful white-on-white minimal wax seals and stunning lined envelopes with calligraphy addressing packed in a vellum wrap with a handmade silk black bow. A sumptuous feast for the eyes!

The tablescapes were beautifully styled with hand calligraphy embroidered velvet bows by The Embroidered Napkin Company, alongside of beautiful letterpressed menus and elegant, minimal tableware from Norfolk-based Banqueting Hire. Sophisticated white candles added warmth and elegance to the tables.

The bride wore dresses by the superb Suzanne Neville and shoes by Emmy London. Hair, makeup and accessories were by luxury bridal brand, Botias. The groom wore suits by Cheshire Menswear.
