I adore designing wedding stationery, but there’s something extra special about working with you to design and print your own. This workshop has been created to make your ‘wedmin’ inspiring and fun. With my tuition, you’ll get hands on with my 1920s Vicobold press – The Beast – and will be responsible for printing your own invitation design.

It’s perfect for creative couples and design enthusiasts who want a luxurious, handmade touch to their invites, and who are keen to play a part in the story of their wedding stationery. I promise an enjoyably artistic experience at my garden studio, and guarantee a serious sense of satisfaction when you’re able to say to your guests: “we designed & printed them ourselves!”

HOW IT WORKS:

In the run up to the workshop, we’ll have a series of design consultations over email and on Zoom to talk through your invitations and make sure the design you have in mind will work for letterpress
Once you’ve finalised your design digitally, I’ll adapt it into a photopolymer printing plate ready for your workshop
On the day of your session, you’ll get a tour of the press and the process of printing, and you’ll be able to print your single-sided design in one or two ink colours. (Or you can opt for a split fountain – the art of blending several ink colours across the press at once. We can discuss these options during your initial design consultations)
Together, we’ll print your invitations, pre-cut to A5, 5x7 or A6 size in luxurious 450gsm white pure cotton card stock. Soft enough to take a crisp impression, firm enough to hold as a keepsake. It feels, in technical terms, bloody lovely!
If required, I can also source envelopes for you in either the colour of your choice, or classic white.
Once your invites are hot off the press, we’ll crack open the fizz to celebrate the birth of your stunning stationery!

Please only book if you have a finished design ready to go. I will feed back on any changes you need to make in order to make it work well with letterpress.
If you are after something a little different - more than 100 invites, additional items (e.g. RSVPs), more ink colours etc, or if you need a helping hand with the design of your invitation, pop me a note in the “additional comments” section of the enquiry form and I can tailor a workshop specifically to your needs.
I typically run these sessions on a Saturday morning, however I can be flexible and we can arrange a time and date that suits you. Remember, we will need to allow a couple of weeks ahead of the studio session to fine-tune your design according to my guidance.
These sessions are non-refundable, however I know that life sometimes gets in the way so will do all I can to accommodate a new date should your plans need to change.
