When I was in my early 20’s, a dear friend gifted me her 1960’s vintage bar when she moved back to the US. It was nestled away in storage until I found the perfect space for it, and it now has pride of place in my kitchen.
It is filled with all sorts of spirits & liquors, many collected on my travels, and providing a fabulous source of inspiration when the cocktail mood strikes.
I love nothing more than making & sharing cocktails with friends. Often lighter and zestier in the summer, and more indulgent in the winter. However, the Negroni is my go-to year-round.
The Figroni is a gorgeous twist on a classic Negroni. It is slightly sweeter, thanks to the fig liquor, and makes a wonderful autumnal cocktail. You can also add a splash of Prosecco at the end if you fancy a Sbagliato, and feel in the mood for a brighter, more refreshing drink.
Serve with a twist of orange and a slice of fresh fig if you can get your hands on some.
Figroni ingredients
- 25ml Gin (I love Sipsmith here)
- 25ml Campari
- 25ml Antica Formula Vermouth
- 25ml Fig Liquor
Method
Pop your tumbler in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before you prep your cocktail. Muddle everything together with ice and the flat end of a bar spoon or similar implement and garnish with a fig slice and an orange twist. Top up with a couple of extra ice cubes.
